FTTx
FTTx applications bring fiber, and higher bandwidth, nearer to the user and include fiber-to-the-curb, fiber-to-the-office, and fiber-to-the-home architectures. These segments of the network include Passive Optical Network (PON) architectures, including BPON (broadband PON), EPON (Ethernet PON), and GPON (Gigabit PON) and require lower costs than do upstream portions closer to the network core. JDSU is expanding its portfolio in this emerging market which currently includes products such as central office transmission modules and amplifiers.
